In September we welcome back our local retired priest Pip Clements to look at the education of Lubenham children from the Middle Ages through to the building of the National School in Lubenham, a brief look into Record Books and stories around the school with a variety of illustrations and information about well-known villagers and village families.

Members Only Visit to Anglesey Abbey

Anglesey Abbey – National Trust

We have arranged our next Members’ Only visit to Anglesey Abbey, Quy Road, Lode, Cambridge CB25 9EJ – a National Trust Jacobean-style house with excellent gardens and water mill, on the outskirts of Cambridge, on Wednesday 24th September.  Please contact Esther Hancock if you would like to take part.

There will be no cost for National Trust members. The cost for non-National Trust members will only be £12 (normally £18). Car Parking is free. Excellent shop and restaurant The Abbey is open for guided tours – book at Reception

Journey time is about an hour and a half – use A14, take left turn onto A14 for Felixstowe at Cambridge and go on to junction 35, turn left and take the left fork for Anglesey Abbey, well sign posted.
