National Memorial Arboretum – Visit – Friday 24th April
We have arranged a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum (Address: Croxall Road, Arlewas, near Lichfield, Staffordshire, DE13 7AR) for Friday 24th April and have a 50 mins Train Tour around the Arboretum with a guided commentary booked for 11.30am. If you have been before, many new memorials have been added, so it is well worth a visit. The cost of the tour is £7.00 per person.
Book now, if you would like to join us on the Community Bus. On 14th April only two seats remain, please contact Esther Hancock asap to book your seat. The cost of the bus will be £12.00 per person. We will leave at 9:30am from the Village Hall.
Payment for the trip will be collected on the day (£7.00 for the tour and £12 for the coach). Cash and card will be acceptable.
If you wish to travel by car, you need to reserve your parking space for £5.00 per car in advance – details are on their website (see: https://www.maximcloud.co.uk/nationalmemorialarboretum/eventslist).
There is an excellent cafe/visitors’ centre/bookshop plus the usual facilities. Please contact Esther Hancock to book your visit and place on minibus.
The National Memorial Arboretum was developed from 2001 and officially opened on 16th May 2001 and the Armed Forces Memorial is well worth a visit, commemorating over 16,000 military personnel who lost their lives in conflict or as a result of terrorism since the end of the Second World War.
