Comprising a leaflet, central information board and plaques on selected buildings, it is designed to encourage residents and visitors to find out more about this attractive yet often underrated village. Its popularity has exceeded all expectations!
Lubenham Parish Walks
This leaflet was produced by the Heritage Group in conjunction with Leicestershire County Council. It details three circular walks of varying lengths which follow designated footpaths into the picturesque rolling countryside surrounding the village.
Lubenham All Saints Church Gravestone Survey
After numerous setbacks, not least the delay caused by the Covid pandemic and other commitments, we have finally got there and the long awaited Survey of the graveyard at All Saints Church, Lubenham is finished!
It all began in 2015 when, following an approach from All Saints Parochial Church Council (PCC) to LHG, it was decided to update the survey carried out by the Women’s Institute in 1981. A small but dedicated group of volunteers began recording all the graves and their hard work has finally come to fruition with the publication of the Survey. It will be on display and available to view in All Saints Church where it will be used not only by those keen to trace relatives and friends but by people researching the history of our village.
Photographic Competitions
The purpose of both competitions held in 2005 and 2010 was to compile an account of village life in a specific year – images which can be passed on to future generations. Several photographs reflect natural history and the changing seasons whilst many others record events which have happened – the first snowy winter in over a decade; erection of new houses; the Scarecrow festivals; closure of the village garage; clothes and fashion and yet another car crash.
These prints will form a permanent record of what life is like in the 21st century and we plan to repeat the exercise in a few years time.

Help and Advice on Lubenham History
We are frequently contacted by people from all over the world who have connections with Lubenham. Often they are trying to find out more about relatives who once lived here. We are always willing to help and advise but regret that lack of resources means we cannot undertake detailed research on your behalf.
