LUBENHAM HERITAGE GROUP IN CRISIS
After 24 years of exemplary service, our Treasurer Pat Dyke and Secretary Barbara Burbidge, are resigning at the AGM. Margaret Lewis, our Visits Secretary is also resigning, which will leave three committee vacancies.
If no volunteers come forward by the AGM on Tuesday 25th February at 7.30pm in the Onyx Room, LHG will be unable to continue and will close completely by the end of December 2025.
For more information, contact any member of committee or speak to our current Secretary, Barbara Burbidge.
The situation is now serious. We need members to attend the AGM to discuss the problems and offer ideas and solutions. I recently attended an MG Owners Club AGM with more attendance than a normal club meeting, which sets a new standard for mixing business with pleasure and getting new volunteers!
It’s Quiz Night Again!
The Annual Quiz Night returns next month on Tuesday March 11th at 7.15pm with Bangers ‘n Mash supper with a vegetarian option as usual.
There will be a prize for the winning table, raffle, bar selling wine, beer and soft drinks and, of course, David Hannibal’s cunning questions. Tickets cost £10pp including supper, payable on the night. It helps with catering if you book a table in advance by contacting Pat Dyke or Barbara Burbidge; or you can just turn up on the night. Don’t worry if you are not in a group of four as we can arrange tables on the evening.
Please note the earlier than normal start time. We ask you to arrive by 7.15pm so we can begin the Quiz promptly at 7.30.
Events for Members
We are still awaiting further details about a proposed visit to Snibston – please watch this space!
And Finally …
A gentle reminder that, unless you have already renewed, your membership expires on 28th February. Please contact Pat Dyke to renew your membership.
