February 2025 Newsletter

The February newsletter contains articles on:
+ Our AGM on Tuesday 25th February at 7:30pm in the Onyx Room, where we need to appoint at least three new committee members. Without a Secretary and Treasurer, the LHG cannot continue and will close completely at end end of 2025.
+ Our Annual Quiz night will take place on Tuesday 11th March. Book your places now a great night out with a Bangers ‘n Mash supper (with vegetarian option).
+ Membership fees for 2025 are now due and remain at £15 per year.

January 2025 Newsletter

The January newsletter contains articles on:
+ Our February meeting – Bridgescapes – an illustrated journey celebrating Scotland’s bridge-building heritage;
+ the membership fees for 2025 are now due and remain at £15 per year;
+ The Future of LHG – Our Secretary and Treasurer are both retiring at our AGM in February. We urgently need volunteers to take on these roles to ensure the LHG continues supporting the local community;
Annual Membership Fees – £15 per per person are now due;
Raffle – this is now being discontinued, except on special occasions, eg Christmas and Quiz nights.

A Canal-side Winter – December 10th

On Tuesday 10th December, our canal-side friend and member Mary Matts, together with John Butlin, Bernard Rice, Phil and Deborah, provided a stunning meeting. They created an engaging presentation, which covered the trials and tribulations of living on the canals during the winter. The talk provided some wonderful images of canal life in winter and was coupled with a seasonal illustrated celebration of stories, along with music and songs.
