Tank Banks of WW1 — 9th December 2026 — Helen Frost
During WW1, tanks (then referred to as land ships), were sent on nationwide tours to drum up public support and to raise massive amounts of money for War Bonds and Savings Certificates. Helen’s illustrated talk will use contemporary accounts, music and archival materials to recreate the excitement these travelling tanks brought to towns and cities across the UK.
For this December talk, Helen will add snippets of information regarding “Christmas for troops in WW1”.
